Over 4.4 million people live in New Zealand. Over 99,000 international students currently live and study in New Zealand. Situated 900 miles east of Australia, New Zealand is an island nation in the South Pacific made up of two main islands and a number of small islands. New Zealand enjoys a pleasant mild climate and great natural beauty, especially in the mountainous areas. Over a third of New Zealandís population lives in Auckland. A city of more than 1.3 million people. New zealands capital, Wellington city, is home to 364,128 people. Christchurch is the second largest city. Itís often referred to as the gateway to the South Island.

English is the main written and spoken language in New Zealand. The ability to read , speak, write and understand English to a relatively high level makes living and working in New Zealand easier and more fulfilling.

Newzealand is surrounded by sea , the climate doesnít get uncomfortably hot or unbearable cold in the areas where the majority of population lives , although extremes will be found , particularly in the mountain ranges in winter. Overall Newzealand temperate climate ranges from 20 degree Ė 30 degree ( 68-86 F ) in summer and from 5-15 degree C (41-59 F ) in winter.

Being in the Southern hemisphere , Newzealand seasons are completely opposite to countries north of the equator. Winter lasts from June until August and summer is between December and February. As for the time difference Newzealnd is 7.5 hours ahead of India.
